Responsibilities
- Operate our packaging equipment and operate a forklift.
- Sample customer product(s) for laboratory testing.
- Code customer product(s).
- Prepare and clean trailers and hopper cars in preparation for loading.
- Complete daily equipment check sheets.
- Load trailers and hopper cars according to procedure; clean hopper car screens and hoses as required.
- Transfer hopper cars and trailers in and out of the Warehouse Bldg.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Complete all work orders, assignments, and priority work lists as assigned consistent with
- our commitment to on-time performance.
- Prepare and maintain all required reports and related documentation.
- Perform all required tasks in a manner consistent with the needs of our customers, our
- safety procedures and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent, secondary education is considered an asset
Valid forklift certificate. - Several years of experience as a Material Handler is an asset.
- Experience in a large-scale manufacturing and/or continuous process environment is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and the environment.
Work Conditions/Schedule
- Able to climb stairs and ladders on a regular basis; work at heights and work in dusty environments.
- Able to work outdoors and in all weather conditions; able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Able to operate basic mechanical tools safely and efficiently
- Able to work continental rotating shift work (ie, 2, 2, 3); including alternating weekends, nights (2-weeks days/2-weeks nights) and holidays.
- 12-hours shifts: 6:00 – 6:00 / 80-hours per 2-week period.
- Overtime as required
