Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a positive role model, offering structured, consistent, and nurturing care to children and young people.
  • Ensure safety and well-being at all times.
  • Respond intuitively to the physical and emotional needs of children and young people.
  • Identify, monitor, and report any signs of stress or abuse.
  • Promote good personal hygiene and semi-independence in daily activities.
  • Escort children and young people to and from activities, supporting them throughout.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, therapists, and social workers.
  • Maintain accurate records using the electronic recording system.
  • Participate in group meetings, staff meetings, and training sessions.
  • Manage shift work, including overnight sleep-ins.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People).
  • Experience in childcare, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage boundaries and cope with pressure.
  • IT proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to work unsocial hours, public holidays, and attend residential holidays.
  • A current driving license is desirable.
