Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a positive role model, offering structured, consistent, and nurturing care to children and young people.
- Ensure safety and well-being at all times.
- Respond intuitively to the physical and emotional needs of children and young people.
- Identify, monitor, and report any signs of stress or abuse.
- Promote good personal hygiene and semi-independence in daily activities.
- Escort children and young people to and from activities, supporting them throughout.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, therapists, and social workers.
- Maintain accurate records using the electronic recording system.
- Participate in group meetings, staff meetings, and training sessions.
- Manage shift work, including overnight sleep-ins.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People).
- Experience in childcare, preferably in a residential setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage boundaries and cope with pressure.
- IT proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office.
- Flexibility to work unsocial hours, public holidays, and attend residential holidays.
- A current driving license is desirable.
