The Wapiti Community Support Association is seeking two compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aides to join our team in Grande Prairie, Alberta. As a Health Care Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being of individuals residing in public housing. You’ll provide essential care, companionship, and assistance with daily living activities, fostering a sense of independence and dignity.
Responsibilities:
Assist patients with personal care needs, including dressing, bathing, and toileting.
Take vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse).
Administer first aid in emergency situations.
Accompany patients on outings and participate in recreational activities.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure resident safety.
Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and team members.
Qualifications:
Health Care Aide certificate (mandatory).
1 to 2 years of experience in a healthcare or community support setting is an asset.
Strong commitment to patient care and a focus on resident well-being.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of empathy and patience.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physically fit and able to perform tasks requiring bending, crouching, lifting (up to 20 lbs), and walking.
Reliable, dependable, and organized with a keen eye for detail.
Valid driver’s license and a clear criminal record check are required.
