Key Responsibilities
- Address customer complaints and concerns related to transportation services.
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy when required.
- Load and unload goods safely and efficiently.
- Operate straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials over long distances.
- Inspect vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other essential equipment.
- Perform emergency roadside repairs when necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on the truck.
- Communicate with central dispatch to relay important information.
- Keep accurate records of cargo, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Ensure the safety and security of cargo by tarping and following established protocols.
Qualifications
Education:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
Experience:
- Willing to train candidates with the right qualifications.
Credentials:
- Air Brakes Endorsement.
Driver’s License (Class 3 or D).
Documentation & Specialization
- Familiar with documentation such as accident or incident reports, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, and trip reports.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Must hold a valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel for extended periods.
