Main Responsibilities
Care and Care Planning
- Conduct assessments and create individualized care plans for residents.
- Provide health supervision and direct nursing care.
- Administer prescribed medications following NMC guidelines.
- Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping.
Tissue Viability and Nutrition
Prevent pressure sores through high-standard care.
Maintain detailed care plans for residents with nutritional and hydration needs.
Continence and Hygiene
- Conduct continence assessments and create care plans for residents with catheters.
- Ensure all residents are well-groomed and maintain personal hygiene.
Resident Mobility and Dignity
- Enable residents to move independently when possible.
- Monitor safety measures and implement fall prevention plans.
- Treat all residents respectfully and address them by their preferred names.
Communication and Training
- Participate in staff, resident, and relative meetings.
- Act as a mentor for student nurses and carers.
- Engage in continuous professional development and mandatory training.
Health and Safety
- Implement Health and Safety policies and promote safe working practices.
- Ensure emergency and fire procedures are understood and followed.
Requirements
- NMC Registered Nurse with a valid PIN.
- Ability to communicate and delegate effectively.
- A genuine interest in elderly care.
- Satisfactory DBS and DBS Adult First check.
- Ability to work across a multidisciplinary team.
