Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, and other temporary structures
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Assist with framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Aid in building demolition and clearing sites
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials
  • Remove rubble and debris from construction sites
  • Tend to machinery and equipment on-site
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites

Requirements

  • Languages: English
  • Education: No formal degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Experience: Experience is an asset but not required
  • Work Environment: Outdoors, at heights, confined spaces, dusty, cold/refrigerated, and sometimes dangerous conditions
  • Work Setting: Various locations, construction sites
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Concrete vibrators, reciprocating saws, circular saws, mortar and concrete mixers, jackhammers, air compressors, nail guns, small front-end loaders, compactors, and sledgehammers
  • Construction Specialization: Industrial, commercial, institutional, residential, poured concrete

  • Transportation/Travel Requirements: Must have own transportation and be willing to travel regularly
  • Work Conditions: Fast-paced, physically demanding, handling heavy loads, repetitive tasks, hand-eye coordination
  • Weight Handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs)
